The Career Education Council Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Kelly Schafer has been appointed as the new Executive Director. This is exciting news for the staff and community partners of the CEC. Kelly brings with her years of Not-For-Profit experience, assisting a number of local charities and youth initiatives. Kelly will be joining the CEC team on Dec. 15th, and the staff and Board are excited to work with Kelly to continue the fantastic events and programs the CEC provides to Guelph and the Wellington and Dufferin Counties. Helping youth connect with education and local and area businesses to understand career pathways is what the organization will continue to focus on, with new directions to match the changing needs of industry and community careers.
Scott Williams, acting ED for CEC and Board member says "We warmly welcome Kelly to her new role here at the Career Education Council. It is clear that she has an energetic vision to engage the community and assist students with understanding their career potential. Kelly brings a well-rounded background in the non-profit sector to the CEC, and with her energy we look to a busy future here at CEC. We encourage all of our local businesses and schools to reach out to Kelly to see how they can become involved with the youth events and discuss new initiatives in their communities!"
Career Education Council hosts the Your Future Your Choice event and the Career Pathways events. CEC organizes certification and Reach Ahead days for the Specialist High Skills Majors Programs.
